Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer role is onsite in Alma, MI, with work in the office and production area as required. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports continuous quality and production flow by monitoring visual, dimensional, and process information and driving preventive, rather than reactive, improvement. The role works with customers and internal teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and maintain compliance with facility standards.

What you'll do

• Represent the company as a customer liaison for quality issues and continuous improvement
• implement containment actions and lead corrective action teams
• support APQP documentation and PPAP submissions
• gather data for 8D problem-solving
• design and evaluate QA/QC sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques
• develop SPC systems, control charts, and process capability studies
• analyze quality data and recommend process improvements
• document discrepancies and corrective actions
• train employees in quality tools and measurement
• support supplier requirements, safety policies, and applicable facility standards
• may fill in for the Quality Manager as required.
