Dietitian I (PRN) in Washington, DC. This is an onsite position with a salary range of $72,758.00 - $130,041.00 per year. MedStar Health is a leading healthcare system. This role provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions, including performing malnutrition assessments, nutrition-focused physical exams, and providing nutrition support recommendations.

What you'll do

• Consults with and/or makes recommendations to physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses, nutrient needs, or specific diet plans.
• Formulates nutrition assessment, evaluation, and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk.
• Recommends and documents patient's nutrition treatment findings and plan in the patient's medical record.
• Consults in/outpatients in diet rationale for self-management.
• Participates in clinical rounds, appropriate department/service meetings, and communicates appropriate information to administrative personnel.
• Must be flexible to cross-cover and train in all areas including the Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics if needed.
• Reviews at least one annual review of literature pertinent to the area(s) of responsibility and presents to peers in Journal Club.
• Presents at least one case study to peers annually.
• Attends pertinent meetings to enhance clinical practice growth.
• Performs at least one annual formal professional presentation.
• Develops, implements, or participates in new or updated education material, new policy or policy change, QAPI project, or other nutrition-related project.
• Provides relief and cross-coverage as delegated for in/outpatient services.
• Maintains current CDR credentials and DC Licensure and completes yearly competencies.
• Holds current membership in a professional organization.
• Participates in licensing survey as needed.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science and completion of an accredited dietetic internship. Master's degree required if completed after January 1, 2024.
