Job overview

The Patient Financial Services Specialist — West Kendall role is onsite in Miami, FL. Pay is $15–$19.50 per hour. The position supports Community Health of South Florida’s patient services and billing and encounter form workflows. The specialist registers and checks in patients, performs financial screening, verifies insurance, processes payments, and ensures billing and encounter forms are completed accurately and promptly. The work supports patient access and the accurate handling of clinic records and payments.

What you'll do

  • Register new clients and research existing records
  • renew or update client profiles
  • perform financial screening and attempt collection of past-due debts when clients request services
  • check patients in and out
  • process payments, balance daily batches, submit journals and cash records, and complete statistical data
  • review patient reminder printouts and provide applicable forms
  • verify Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance
  • perform cashier duties
  • train new employees on patient services functions
  • complete and post billing and encounter forms within the same day of service
  • follow confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • participate in continuing education and performance improvement activities.
