Jarraff Operator — Utility Vegetation Management

Job overview

The Jarraff Operator role is onsite in Altavista, VA, with stated pay of $25 per hour. The operator removes branches and tree material from electrical lines, supporting utility vegetation-management work. The role operates heavy equipment under a foreperson’s direction and helps the crew complete work safely and effectively. It also supports equipment readiness, site protection, cleanup, and storm restoration work when needed.

What you'll do

• Follow and help enforce safety practices
• prepare equipment and materials as directed
• operate equipment as directed by the foreperson
• help maintain and repair equipment and tools
• assist crew members and take a leadership role when required
• clean up and dispose of debris
• set up barriers and warning markers
• track and report mileage
• perform storm-work duties as needed.
