Special Education Teacher — Elementary, High School, Resource and Life Skills

Job overview

The Special Education Teacher role is onsite in Waterville, ME. Compensation is $38–$45 per hour. Pediatric Developmental Services places qualified teachers and pediatric therapists with schools and communities to support children’s educational needs. The teacher develops and delivers individualized instruction and supports student progress through lesson planning, family and staff communication, and collaboration with on-site therapists. The work contributes to a safe classroom environment and students’ educational development.

What you'll do

• Create and implement Individualized Education Plans
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• communicate student progress and challenges with staff and families
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• consult on behavioral issues with on-site therapists
• maintain a safe, productive classroom.
