The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) role is onsite in Gardnerville, NV, working three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; days vary. Compensation is not specified. The nurse supports ICU, medical, telemetry, and swing-bed patients at Carson Valley Health. The RN provides critical-level nursing care to patients with life-threatening and other complex conditions. Assessment, medication management, monitoring, documentation, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team contribute to patient safety and care outcomes.

What you'll do

• Assess critically ill patients and interpret vital signs and laboratory results
• develop and adjust individualized care plans
• administer medications, including IV drips, titrations, and emergency medications
• communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• document care in the electronic health record
• respond to changing conditions and emergencies
• prioritize care by acuity
• administer blood products and maintain IV access
• provide care to ICU, medical, telemetry, and swing-bed patients
• participate in quality improvement
• serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff.
