The Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician role is onsite in Tampa, FL, with compensation of $15–$20 per hour. Bayshore Animal Clinic is an established small-animal general practice serving the South Tampa community. The role supports veterinarians and the clinical team with patient care, examinations, procedures, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery. It contributes to safe, compassionate care for animal patients and clear communication with clients about medications, treatments, and home care.

What you'll do

• Provide patient care, restraint, and veterinary nursing
• assist with examinations, treatments, procedures, and appointments
• perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection based on training and experience
• support laboratory diagnostics and patient monitoring
• assist with surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery
• administer directed medications
• maintain records
• educate clients
• support discharge and follow-up
• maintain treatment areas.

Why this role

Four days per week with rotating Saturdays and shared weekend coverage. Certified Veterinary Technician credential is preferred but not required for experienced assistants and technicians. Hourly wage is negotiable for a Certified Veterinary Technician.
