The Children & Youth Specialist role is onsite in Carol Stream, IL, with pay of $23.00–$25.00 per hour. The specialist helps refugee and immigrant children and families adjust to life in the United States by connecting them with schools, early-childhood supports, and community services. The role combines family case management, school liaison work, youth-club participation, advocacy, and accurate program records.

What you'll do

• Meet with families of children ages 0–5 to identify support needs
• assist with initial WIC enrollment and ongoing education
• provide parent education and developmental milestone guidance
• refer families to community resources and support preschool and birth-to-three enrollment
• liaise with schools and families on enrollment, meetings, communication, and student advocacy
• participate in parent-child playgroups and after-school youth clubs
• facilitate youth-club enrollment
• maintain client, volunteer, attendance, case-note, and student records
• participate in department meetings, training, and community activities.

Why this role
