Culinary Aide – Part-Time

Job overview

The Culinary Aide role is onsite in Seattle, WA, with varied shifts of 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 2:30–7:00 p.m. Compensation is $19 per hour. The role supports food service for residents, employees, and special events at a Cascadia Healthcare facility. The aide prepares and portions food, serves meals according to menus and resident diet orders, and maintains food temperatures, records, and kitchen cleanliness. The work supports safe, timely, and appealing meals while following food-handling, infection-control, and facility procedures.

What you'll do

• Prepare and portion food and beverages for regular and therapeutic diets, meals, snacks, employees, and events
• follow food-handling and safety procedures and standardized recipes
• serve food attractively and according to resident diet orders and preferences
• maintain and record food and refrigerator/freezer temperatures
• label, date, and store food
• wash dishes and kitchen items
• clean work areas
• follow infection-control and safety techniques
• assist with receiving and storing supplies and verifying invoices
• report low stock and equipment problems
• maintain kitchen security and equipment
• work cooperatively with nursing-center departments and interact appropriately with residents, families, and visitors.
