Network Administrator

Job overview

The Network Administrator role is hybrid at Fort George G. Meade, MD, with daily onsite coverage Monday through Friday during core hours of 0900–1500 ET; the onsite and telework balance is set by the COR at award. Pay is $120,000–$150,000 per year. Rand Consulting Group supports the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, including technology and cloud-data work. The lead administrator configures, optimizes, secures, and troubleshoots a DoD technology analysis lab network. The role maintains network availability and access controls through infrastructure management, updates, backups, VPN connectivity, and coordination with partner test personnel.

What you'll do

• Manage physical and virtual switching infrastructure and firewalls
• implement firewall policies
• track and allocate network addresses and document IP addresses and subnets
• manage VLANs and service meshes
• apply infrastructure as code to network configuration
• apply software and security updates, update configurations, and execute backups
• establish VPN connectivity and control network access
• maintain lab connectivity and troubleshoot with partner test personnel.

Why this role
