What you'll do
- Assists with diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures, ensuring minimal risk to the patient and team members according to the departmental protocols for a Level 1 Trauma Center and DNV Designate Comprehensive Stroke facility.
- Functions as a technical resource and provides scrub assistance using aseptic technique.
- Requires detailed knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes and principles of diagnostic and interventional radiology.
- Scrub and assist the physician in the diagnostic and interventional procedure.
- Prepare patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into a specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Assess patient for factors that may indicate or contraindicate procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.
- Operate diagnostic equipment, process images and prepare room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.
- Ensure a positive patient encounter including maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling patients, overseeing patient transportation, ordering supplies and sustaining a healthy work environment.
What we're looking for
- Education
- Graduate of accredited school of cardiovascular technology, Graduate of accredited school of radiology, Associate degree or baccalaureate degree in a clinically related health science field
- Experience
- 1 year Interventional Radiology experience minimum or minimum of 3 years of Radiology experience with OR or fluoroscopy
