The Director of Facilities Planning & Design role is hybrid in Palo Alto, CA, with an eight-hour day schedule. Base pay generally starts at $91.68–$121.48 per hour. The position supports Stanford Health Care’s facilities planning and operational readiness work. The director leads multidisciplinary planning and design teams from feasibility through activation, keeping projects aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and organizational priorities. The role coordinates operational readiness, business continuity, and facility activation so new spaces can support intended operations.

What you'll do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering programming, planning, and design services
• translate business and operational plans into program requirements, test fits, feasibility studies, and master plans
• maintain planning standards and documentation guidelines
• ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and health care policies
• partner with Facilities Construction and stakeholders on scope, schedule, budget, governance, risk, and change control
• manage staffing, workload, performance, recruitment, coaching, and development
• oversee vendor and consultant engagements.
