Job overview

The Senior Area Director role is field-based in Lubbock, TX, with regular travel within assigned markets and monthly site visits to assigned locations. The salary range is $90,000–$100,000 per year. Caregiver Inc. operates group homes, host homes, and day programs serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The director oversees operational execution, staffing, client outcomes, quality, and compliance across assigned programs while maintaining a reduced caseload for leadership responsibilities. The role supports regional strategy, coaches program managers and Area Directors, and coordinates person-centered services and regulatory readiness.

What you'll do

  • Support regional planning and growth
  • translate multi-region strategies into measurable goals
  • supervise and coach Day Program Managers
  • conduct routine site visits and drive corrective actions
  • maintain Individual Program Plans and support alignment with Person-Directed Plans
  • recruit, onboard, and train staff
  • manage schedules, coverage, and workforce compliance
  • coordinate client onboarding and case management
  • support interdisciplinary meetings, surveys, audits, and corrective plans
  • coordinate care with internal and external stakeholders
  • review incidents, service utilization, and program documentation.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in human services or a healthcare-related field, at least one year of direct experience with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and 3–5 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience. A related master’s degree is preferred.
