Director of Development – West Region

Job overview

The Director of Development – West Region role is onsite in Denver, CO. Compensation is $150,000–$165,000 per year for jobs performed in Colorado. Thompson Thrift develops, constructs, leases, and manages multifamily communities nationwide. The director oversees a portfolio of multifamily development projects from initial letter of intent through construction loan closing. The role coordinates due diligence, entitlements, design, budgets, approvals, and external partners to advance projects in alignment with company standards and business objectives.

What you'll do

• Maintain accountability for multifamily development projects from initial LOI through construction loan closing
• liaise with city officials and external partners
• review financial pro formas with Acquisitions
• manage due diligence timelines and cost schedules
• secure consultant proposals
• coordinate zoning, entitlement, and approval processes
• work with legal counsel on title and survey issues
• evaluate utility availability and infrastructure costs
• oversee site investigations
• support project budgeting
• coordinate civil engineering and architectural design
• represent the company at public hearings and meetings
• maintain project documentation
• escalate material risks with recommended solutions.
