What you'll do
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
- provide Basic and Advanced Life Support
- assess injuries and illnesses and prioritize care
- treat patients at scenes and during transport
- rescue and extricate victims when needed
- communicate with medical personnel and treatment facilities
- maintain order at scenes
- complete patient and insurance forms
- follow safety and contamination-prevention procedures
- educate and train personnel, trainees, and the public
- respond to dispatcher instructions
- operate emergency vehicles safely.
