Job overview

The Structural Steel Estimator role is an onsite position in Richmond, VA, with office work and construction-site visits as needed. Compensation is $70,000–$100,000 per year. Atlantic Constructors works on industrial, modular fabrication, and commercial projects, including projects in healthcare, education, and other sectors. The estimator develops complete steel trade estimates by reviewing project documents, coordinating vendor and subcontractor pricing, and calculating material, labor, and equipment costs. Accurate estimates and scope coordination support bidding, procurement, and project handoff to operations.

What you'll do

• Review construction documents and scopes
• solicit and assess subcontractor and vendor quotations
• perform material and equipment takeoffs using Tekla PowerFab or similar estimating software
• enter costs into bid summaries
• prepare trade scopes for proposals
• and assist with procurement and project turnover when awarded.
