Pathobiology Research Specialist — Histology and IHC

The Pathobiology Research Specialist — Histology and IHC role is onsite in San Mateo, CA, with a stated pay range of $56.83–$57.26 per hour. The assignment is 24 months with possible extension. The role supports the Pathobiology Group, which provides laboratory support throughout the organization, and contributes to drug discovery and development research. The specialist develops tissue-based assays and performs histological work to help identify and validate drug targets. By planning and troubleshooting experiments and sharing findings with research teams, the role supports advancement of drug-candidate projects in oncology, fibrosis, virology, and inflammation.

What you'll do

• Optimize and validate antibody reagents for IHC and CISH
• develop tissue-based assays
• prepare human and animal tissues and scan images
• improve IHC and other histological methods
• plan, execute, and troubleshoot experiments
• present findings and recommendations to senior staff
• collaborate with internal research groups and external collaborators.
