Transmission Line Engineering Staff III

The Transmission Line Engineering Staff III is an onsite role based in San Diego, CA, with a salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per year. This position supports the Energy Services department by performing design and analysis for overhead transmission line projects to help build resilient infrastructure. This role exists to lead design packages for transmission line projects, including structure loading, foundation coordination, and advanced modeling. The engineer will mentor junior staff and advance technical leadership while ensuring projects meet utility standards and safety requirements.

What you'll do

• Perform transmission line design and analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER for voltages up to 500 kV.
• Develop structure loading, framing, and connection designs per NESC and ASCE standards.
• Prepare plan-and-profile drawings, material lists, and construction packages.
• Coordinate foundation design with structural and geotechnical teams.
• Mentor junior staff and interface with utility clients.
