Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Job overview

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist role is onsite in Carthage, NC, and is part-time at 12–16 hours per week. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour. Friend to Friend is a nonprofit crisis service agency supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through counseling, advocacy, shelter, and related services. The therapist provides trauma-informed counseling and related support to non-shelter clients, helping them address mental health needs and connect with appropriate services. The role also supports the agency’s counseling and housing work and may provide mental health support to shelter clients when needed.

What you'll do

• Provide short-term individual and group counseling
• conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
• provide referrals
• maintain confidential documentation and monthly statistics
• develop and lead support groups
• assist with Advocacy Office crisis and general phone lines
• welcome clients when court advocates are busy
• attend meetings and required continuing education.

Why this role

Requires a master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field and an active full or provisional North Carolina mental health counseling license. Provisionally licensed applicants must provide proof of a qualified supervisor.
