The Facilities General Mechanic works onsite in Middlebury, VT. Compensation is $28.14–$33.11 per hour. The role supports campus building equipment and facilities services at Middlebury College. The mechanic performs repairs and preventive maintenance across HVAC, electromechanical, generator, and other campus equipment to help maintain reliable building operations. The position also supports facilities teams with fabrication, troubleshooting, and related maintenance work.

What you'll do

• Perform HVAC and electromechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC devices and low-voltage controls
• carry out millwright work, equipment reliability tasks, belt and shaft alignments, conveyor work, and rigging
• maintain and test standby generators and coordinate outages and repairs
• perform annual equipment maintenance
• fabricate and weld equipment and parts
• assist with snow removal, event setup and cleanup, loading and unloading, and grounds maintenance
• support trades teams.
