Piping Mechanic

The Piping Mechanic role is onsite at commercial project sites in Lynchburg, VA, and surrounding areas. Compensation is $25–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill set. Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical is an employee-owned commercial and industrial services company whose stated mission is to build people as well as buildings and strengthen communities. The mechanic assists job-site crews with installing mechanical piping systems for projects that include K–12, university, and healthcare buildings. The role uses trade knowledge in welding and/or pipe fitting, interprets construction drawings and blueprints, mentors helpers and apprentices, and may assist other mechanical trades as needed.

What you'll do

• Assist job-site crews with mechanical piping system installation
• apply knowledge of carbon-steel pipe welding, pipe fitting, or both
• read and interpret construction and coordination drawings and blueprints
• train and mentor helpers and apprentices
• assist other mechanical trades as needed
• complete projects from start to finish while following safety protocols.
