What you'll do

• Conducts appropriate evaluations, assesses home environment (as appropriate), and identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
• Establishes a plan of care to improve patient’s function.
• Administers diagnostic speech and language evaluations and some basic, informal audio logical assessment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
• Prepares a report of each client’s diagnostic evaluation and makes recommendations.
• Advises, consults and teaches appropriate procedures and supportive activities to clients, family members, and other agency staff.
• Provides direct speech service to clients under a provider’s plan of care.
• Records and reports to the provider the client’s response to therapy.

What we're looking for

Education

Possess certification of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech Language Hearing Association

Experience

At least one (1) year of acute care setting or equivalent experience
