The Head Cook role is onsite in Astoria, NY, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pay is $21–$26 per hour based on experience. The role supports meal service for older adults at the Ravenswood Senior Center, part of HANAC, Inc.’s community services. The Head Cook oversees daily kitchen operations, preparing and serving meals for approximately 100–150 senior participants while managing menus, supplies, food safety, records, and kitchen staff. The work helps provide nutritious meals and a clean, safe, welcoming dining experience in accordance with applicable nutrition and health standards.

What you'll do

• Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch
• develop menus in line with DFTA nutrition requirements and Simple Servings guidelines
• order food and kitchen supplies
• maintain inventory records
• monitor food quality, storage, temperatures, and sanitation
• complete reports, inspections, and regulatory logs
• supervise and train kitchen staff, interns, volunteers, and food handlers
• assist with special events and community activities.
