Housing Specialist

The Housing Specialist role is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA. Compensation is $19.24 per hour. Start Corporation’s mission is to promote self-sufficiency and help people live and function independently; this role supports clients served by the ACT team. The specialist helps clients obtain and maintain affordable, stable housing while coordinating with the ACT team and community resources. The work supports client recovery, independence, personal choice, and housing stability through assessments, referrals, supportive services, and landlord relationships.

What you'll do

• Assist ACT clients in obtaining affordable housing based on financial means and available grants
• work with ACT team members to address client needs
• participate in and complete treatment plans with clients
• interview clients or families and complete assessments and clinical documentation
• maintain case records and required data
• provide referrals and community linkages
• teach social and household management skills
• support housing maintenance and community integration
• recruit and retain landlords and seek fair, affordable housing opportunities
• attend ACT team meetings and supervision
• maintain a clear driving record to drive company vehicles and transport clients.
