What you'll do
- Teach a robust, inclusive, and culturally responsive literature curriculum
- Conduct deep exploration of daily content to guide students in analyzing texts and developing intellectual identity
- Develop students’ independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills
- Facilitate student-led discourse, teaching students to use evidence to make sophisticated claims
- Analyze student comprehension and writing regularly to adapt lessons
- Partner with department and grade level team on content and instructional strategies
- Meet weekly with principal/coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work and assessments
- Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction
- Build positive relationships with students
- Partner with students’ families
- Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching
- Participate in weekly, school-wide meetings
- Partner with grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.
What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience
- 1-2 years experience preferred.
