What you'll do

• Teach a robust, inclusive, and culturally responsive literature curriculum
• Conduct deep exploration of daily content to guide students in analyzing texts and developing intellectual identity
• Develop students’ independent and collaborative reading, writing, and discussion skills
• Facilitate student-led discourse, teaching students to use evidence to make sophisticated claims
• Analyze student comprehension and writing regularly to adapt lessons
• Partner with department and grade level team on content and instructional strategies
• Meet weekly with principal/coach to analyze and respond to trends in student work and assessments
• Learn and implement strategies to differentiate instruction
• Build positive relationships with students
• Partner with students’ families
• Engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching
• Participate in weekly, school-wide meetings
• Partner with grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience

1-2 years experience preferred.
