Residential HVAC Service Technician

Job overview

The Residential HVAC Service Technician role is onsite, with hiring locations in Fairbury, Champaign, Rockford, and Freeport, IL, and Elkhorn, WI. Pay is $20.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience, plus performance incentives described as approximately $2.00–$3.00 more per hour on average and approximately $5.00 more per hour for top technicians. The schedule is Monday–Friday starting at 7:00 a.m., with a minimal rotating on-call schedule. Edelman provides residential HVAC service and offers dispatch from home. The technician diagnoses and services residential HVAC systems, explains findings and options to customers, and documents work accurately. Quality repairs and preventive service help reduce callbacks, while weekly technical training supports continued skill development.

Why this role

Three or more years of HVAC service experience preferred; candidates with at least one year and strong learning ability may be considered for entry-level placement. EPA Type II certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days is required. Minimal rotating on-call schedule.
