Principal Engineer - Transmission Scenario Planning

Job overview

Principal Engineer in Kennett Square, PA. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in the office, with a salary range of $122,400.00/Yr. – $168,300.00/Yr. This role develops and/or leads teams in studies, plans, criteria, specifications, and analyses related to Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication facilities. It involves acting as a recognized technical authority in specialized engineering areas and supporting scenario planning initiatives.

What you'll do

• Performs consultation and training on highly complex and unique technical areas.
• Evaluates complex technical issues and recommends actions or programs for their resolution.
• Leads the implementation of large specialized technical projects and/or teams.
• Participates in technical and industry societies and committees.
• Participates in department planning, provides budget recommendations, and monitors performance.
• Acts as an expert witness for regulatory and/or legal proceedings.
• Applies engineering expertise to support detailed analyses to assess transmission system performance.
• Supports technical aspects of scenario planning initiatives.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop transmission system upgrade plans.
• Supports NERC compliance efforts.
• Identifies new analyses, technologies, and/or processes to improve efficiency.

What we're looking for

Education

Master of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer

Experience

8+ years of experience in specific areas of engineering and recognized industry expert
