SMT Operator Technician

Job overview

The SMT Operator Technician role is onsite in Buffalo, NY, and pays $30 per hour. The technician supports printed circuit board production by operating automated surface-mount technology equipment and helping maintain production quality and equipment performance.

What you'll do

• Set up, program, and operate automated SMT pick-and-place equipment
• run reflow ovens, screen printers, and stencil-cleaning systems
• interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and schematics
• monitor equipment and product quality
• troubleshoot machine, component, or process issues
• adjust equipment
• perform solder touch-up or minor rework when necessary
• complete production and quality documentation
• perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance
• and follow safety, ESD, quality, and manufacturing procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required
• one or more years of SMT pick-and-place experience is preferred, and candidates with relevant technical skills who can learn the equipment may also be considered.
