The Medical Director, Scientific Affairs role is fully remote for candidates residing in eligible U.S. locations, with occasional travel for team meetings and company events. Base pay is $237,719–$312,006 per year. The role joins Oscar Health’s Clinical Affairs team and reports to the Vice President, Clinical Affairs. This position provides strategic leadership for the Clinical Policy team, guiding evidence-based medical and pharmacy policies from research and review through execution. It also serves as a scientific authority across the organization, helping inform care quality, products, and policy decisions.

What you'll do

• Lead the research, development, revision, and clinical accuracy of medical, utilization management, and pharmacy coverage policies
• translate clinical research into actionable strategies
• advise executives on emerging therapies and clinical trends
• support evidence-based product development and academic research partnerships
• review specialty society guidelines
• maintain the clinical evidence-grading framework
• oversee Clinical Advisory Subcommittees
• partner with Pharmacy Services, Legal, and Compliance
• and support regulatory interactions as needed.
