Utility-Scale Underground Trenching Superintendent

The Utility-Scale Underground Trenching Superintendent role is field-based at project sites nationwide, with 100% travel throughout the United States. Compensation is $140,000–$200,000 per year. R-2 Contractors performs utility-scale power, renewable energy, transmission, and substation projects. The superintendent leads underground trenching and conduit installation operations, coordinating crews, equipment, materials, schedules, and quality. The role develops field leaders and helps deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in line with specifications and production goals.

What you'll do

• Lead field operations for underground trenching and conduit installation
• plan manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and production schedules
• supervise foremen and field crews
• oversee trenching, mechanical laying, conduit installation, backfilling, restoration, and quality control
• interpret drawings and specifications
• coordinate with project managers, customers, inspectors, suppliers, and utility representatives
• monitor production, budgets, schedules, and equipment use
• maintain project and inspection records
• coach and develop foremen and future superintendents
• promote job-site safety and continuous improvement.

Why this role
