Patient Account Technician

Job overview

The Patient Account Technician role is onsite in Willows, CA, and pays $23–$27 per hour. The position supports Northern Valley Indian Health’s Fiscal Department with daily patient billing activities. The technician prepares and monitors insurance claims, posts payments, responds to billing inquiries, and maintains billing records. This work helps the Fiscal Department process patient accounts accurately across medical and dental coverage programs.

What you'll do

• Prepare electronic and paper claims for Medicare, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, Family Planning (PACT), BCEDP, and private insurance
• monitor claim status
• keep current with ICD/CPT coding and billing requirements
• answer billing inquiries
• maintain files
• post insurance and patient payments
• identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance when appropriate.
