The Direct Support Professional II role is an onsite position in Brooklyn, NY, with a Monday–Sunday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for 16 total hours. Compensation is $19.81 per hour. The Institute for Community Living supports people with developmental disabilities in residential settings. Under clinical or supervisory staff, the professional provides direct care and helps residents build daily living, vocational, social, nutritional, and personal skills. The role promotes independence and community integration while supporting health, safety, and individual progress.

What you'll do

  • Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration per AMAP, vital signs, and medical appointments
  • support meals and nutrition
  • maintain a safe and clean residential environment
  • promote skill-building, recreation, employment supports, and community integration
  • document and report progress
  • participate in program planning and training
  • apply approved behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a Direct Support Professional certificate. AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid certifications must be current or obtainable within six months of hire.
