Family Support Specialist

Job overview

The Family Support Specialist role is primarily onsite in families’ homes in Omaha, Nebraska. Pay is $18.41–$23.50 per hour. The role supports families through home-based, family-centered services focused on child development, parent-child relationships, and family well-being. The specialist assesses family needs, develops and revises service plans, supports family goals, and connects families with community resources. The work also includes screening and assessment activities, documentation, advocacy, and coordination with agency staff and other providers.

What you'll do

• Conduct family-centered, strength-based home visits
• assess needs and coordinate referrals
• develop, implement, evaluate, and revise service plans
• help families establish and achieve goals
• administer applicable screening tools and the FROG scale
• provide preventative teaching and advocacy
• communicate with families, providers, and community resources
• document outcomes and maintain confidentiality.
