Surgery Scheduler

What you'll do

• Schedule procedures with patients, physicians, and medical facilities
• arrange pre- and post-operative appointments
• confirm dates, times, and locations
• coordinate anesthesia providers and surgical teams
• provide pre-operative instructions and answer patient questions
• update patients about schedule changes
• maintain EMR records
• obtain and verify insurance authorizations
• distribute schedules
• ensure documentation and consents are filed
• address conflicts
• maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

Why this role

High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred. Prior surgery scheduling or similar medical office experience is sought; two years of surgery scheduling experience is preferred.
