After-School Instructor — YMCA

The After-School Instructor role is onsite at YMCA sites across San Jose, CA, and pays $26.50 per hour. BrightBee connects workers with schools and currently has a high need for group leader assignments with its YMCA partner. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 1:45 p.m.–6:00 p.m.; candidates ideally can work two to three days per week. The instructor leads activities, supports homework and small-group tutoring, and supervises students during after-school periods. The role helps create a safe, inclusive, and productive extension of the school day while supporting student engagement and learning.

What you'll do

• Design and lead physical education, team-building, arts, and STEM activities
• assist with homework and small-group tutoring
• supervise students during transitions, snack, and recreation
• use positive behavior management and follow safety and check-out procedures
• take attendance
• prepare activity materials
• maintain a clean environment
• communicate brief updates to parents at pickup.
