Plant Design Engineering Intern

The Plant Design Engineering Intern role is onsite in the Billings Metropolitan Area, MT, with stated pay of $20–$25 per hour. Stratus is a multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, interior design, and consulting firm serving public- and private-sector clients across multiple sectors. The intern supports engineers and designers on industrial facility layouts, equipment arrangements, piping systems, and project documentation. The role provides guided, hands-on exposure to design tools, field conditions, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery while contributing to active assignments.

What you'll do

• Assist with plant layouts, equipment arrangements, piping drawings, models, reports, and project documentation
• support three-dimensional design and coordination of equipment, piping, access, maintenance, and facility systems
• participate in project meetings, model reviews, site visits, field observations, and cross-discipline collaboration.
