Security Operations Technician

Job overview

The Security Operations Technician role is primarily onsite at a secure data center in Madison, North Carolina. The position works 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule to provide 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is not specified. The role is part of the data center Operations team and reports to the Data Center Manager. The technician helps keep the facility secure and operational by monitoring access, surveillance, alarms, and environmental and support-system dashboards. The role documents incidents, performs initial triage of basic alerts, escalates issues, and coordinates with Operations and service providers.

What you'll do

• Monitor cameras, security and alarm systems
• control and record site access
• conduct facility walkthroughs
• respond to alarms and irregular activity and escalate as needed
• maintain incident logs and shift reports
• monitor environmental and support-system dashboards
• triage basic alerts and support tickets
• coordinate maintenance interventions
• support audits, compliance checks, drills, and procedure improvements.
