The Hardware Engineering Manager role is onsite in Boulder, CO. Compensation is $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus an annual bonus and company equity. Atom Computing develops quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms. This player-coach role leads the architecture, development, and delivery of mixed-signal printed circuit boards and hardware for quantum computers. It combines team leadership with hands-on technical contribution to deliver reliable, scalable quantum control instruments and improve design and verification processes.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor hardware engineers responsible for PCB design, bring-up, and testing
• collaborate with quantum physicists and engineering teams to shape the hardware roadmap
• manage PCB fabrication and contract assembly vendor relationships, quotes, and lead times
• investigate prototype defects and drive corrective action
• oversee hardware projects from definition through production
• improve design, verification, and deployment processes.
