Substance Use Disorder Counselor

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor role is onsite in Butler, PA. Compensation is $50,000 per year. The Ellen O'Brien Gaiser Addiction Center provides inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment and evidence-based care. This counselor assesses clients’ substance use needs, provides individual, family, and group counseling, and coordinates treatment and referrals. The role supports clients’ recovery through confidential counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and continuity of care.

What you'll do

• Assess drug and alcohol needs using ASAM and DSM-5 guidelines
• conduct intake interviews and utilization reviews
• develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress
• provide individual, family, and group counseling using evidence-based modalities
• maintain client records and required documentation
• coordinate with healthcare providers, agencies, and community resources
• provide crisis intervention
• present cases at staff meetings
• maintain required continuing education.
