Residential Aide

Job overview

Residential Aide is an onsite role in Jamaica, NY, paying $17 to $18 per hour. The role supports Westhab’s homeless shelter services and works with the social services team. The aide helps meet clients’ basic needs and supports safe, orderly shelter operations. Through intakes, daily living assistance, documentation, and facility tasks, the role contributes to client support and the shelter’s day-to-day functioning.

What you'll do

• Complete and assist with client intakes and facility orientation
• serve meals and snacks
• inspect and monitor client areas for adherence to shelter rules
• maintain storage areas and locker records
• assist clients with securing and storing property
• support the security team and operations desk as needed
• maintain case records and client documentation
• assist with daily living skills, cleaning, laundry, and hygiene
• attend required meetings and training
• respond to incidents
• answer phones
• and assist with house operations and maintenance as needed.

Why this role
