Design and Project Consultant — Residential Remodeling

Job overview

The Design and Project Consultant role is hybrid in Walnut Creek, CA, with in-home consultations and client work. Target compensation is $100,000–$160,000 per year. Gordon Reese Design Build guides homeowners through residential design and construction using price certainty and eco-friendly methods. This dual role owns client engagement from initial qualification through design hand-off, combining client consultation and sales conversations with conceptual design, material selection, and permit-ready plans. It helps translate homeowner needs into well-planned remodeling projects and coordinated hand-offs to estimation, production, and field teams.

What you'll do

• Conduct qualification calls and in-home feasibility consultations
• develop conceptual designs, space plans, and 3D walkthroughs in Chief Architect
• manage material selections
• produce code-compliant permit and field plan sets
• procure materials, fixtures, and finishes within budget
• coordinate hand-offs to estimation, production, and field teams
• and represent the firm at seminars, real estate offices, and community events.
