The Maintenance Mechanic — McBain Power Plant role is onsite in McBain, MI. Compensation is not specified. The position supports National Energy’s McBain Power Plant and reports to the Maintenance Manager. This role maintains plant reliability by planning, scheduling, and performing or coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance for mechanical systems and components. It also contributes technical input to plant improvements and works with operations and other plant groups to resolve equipment issues.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, actuators, gearboxes, compressors, fans, engines, piping, tubing, and hydraulics
• complete work orders safely
• document work and close orders in the eMaint CMMS
• install equipment
• oversee contractors as required
• contribute to plant-system improvements and reliability
• manage inventory and purchase requisitions
• participate in safety initiatives
• communicate unusual conditions and job progress to operations staff.

Why this role

Five years of industrial or power-industry mechanical maintenance experience and a valid Michigan driver’s license are required. Preferred experience includes CMMS, high-pressure steam systems, welding, pipefitting, rigging, hydraulics, and shaft alignment.
