Floor Technician

Job overview

The Floor Technician role is onsite in Baltimore, MD, with scheduled hours of 12 p.m.–8 p.m. and weekend availability required. Pay is $18 per hour. The technician helps maintain clean, safe, and welcoming campus spaces for students, faculty, and visitors. The role exists to maintain floors and support cleanliness across campus areas. It contributes to a safe and orderly environment through specialized floor care, equipment operation, sanitation practices, and communication with campus staff.

What you'll do

• Strip, wax, buff, and clean carpets
• operate floor-care equipment such as auto scrubbers and burnishers
• maintain floors in hallways, classrooms, offices, and common areas
• follow safety, infection-control, sanitation, and hazardous-material policies
• respond to floor-care requests
• perform light janitorial duties, including trash removal, as needed
• communicate with campus staff and supervisors.
