Mortgage Assistant

Job overview

The Mortgage Assistant role is onsite in Bethalto, IL, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and rotating Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. to noon, approximately once every six weeks. Pay is $16.73–$18.60; the posting does not specify the pay period. 1st MidAmerica is a financial institution serving members and communities with financial products. The assistant supports members and the mortgage department by answering inquiries, researching and resolving issues, and processing loan-related documents and transactions. Accurate records, reports, and follow-up help the department move mortgage files through closing and release paid-off loans promptly.

What you'll do

• Welcome members and guests
• answer general mortgage product inquiries
• process mail and scan loan documents
• process approved invoices and maintain file retention
• order employment verifications for loans going to closing
• prepare daily reports for mortgage loan originators
• update departmental reports and the intranet rate sheet
• ensure paid-off mortgage loans are released accurately and promptly
• type notices to county offices
• post receipts to the appropriate general ledger and maintain a bills spreadsheet.

Why this role
