Healing to Advocacy Program Manager

The Healing to Advocacy Program Manager is a full-time, salaried position based at either Essie Justice Group’s Los Angeles or Oakland, California office. Pay is $90,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience. Essie Justice Group builds grassroots power to challenge the incarceration system and advance care, equity, community safety, and liberation. The manager leads the day-to-day operations of the Healing to Advocacy organizing program, supervises staff, and coordinates member recruitment, cohorts, training, childcare, and evaluation. The role strengthens member leadership and program delivery in support of Essie’s advocacy and organizing goals.

What you'll do

• Directly manage 1–2 staff and day-to-day program operations
• plan logistics and reduce barriers to participation
• manage and co-design the EssieKids! childcare program
• manage contractors and external relationships
• coordinate member recruitment and cohort placement
• recruit, onboard, and support member facilitators
• launch cohorts in 15–20 locations statewide
• coordinate 2–4 graduation events per year
• manage program data and evaluation
• coordinate facilitator training retreats
• track leadership development outcomes and recommend program improvements.
