The Special Programs Teacher Assistant role is onsite in Gillette, WY, with hours of 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Pay is $21.17 per hour. Northeast Wyoming BOCES supports special-needs students’ personal and academic needs through classroom instruction and related services. The assistant supports the instructional program under teacher and administrator supervision, helping students learn, stay safe, and develop academic, communication, coping, and daily living skills. The role also supports implementation of individualized education plans and coordination with school staff and families.

What you'll do

• Assist with classroom instruction and adapt activities and materials under the special education teacher’s direction
• support and reinforce classroom objectives and document progress
• implement instructional plans and IEP goals under supervision
• monitor student behavior and safety in school settings
• assist students with life skills and personal hygiene
• provide first aid or medical assistance as instructed by an onsite registered nurse
• communicate with instructional staff, support personnel, and parents
• maintain instructional materials and records
• drive school vehicles on scheduled routes or field trips as assigned.
