Medical Telephone Operator

Job overview

The Medical Telephone Operator role is onsite in Sacramento, CA. Compensation is $18–$22 per hour. The position supports Natomas Family Practice’s Phone Operations department, the first point of contact for patients at a high-volume clinic. The operator handles incoming calls, documents interactions in the Epic electronic health record, and schedules or changes appointments. The role routes refill requests and messages to clinical staff and helps patients resolve inquiries with accurate, courteous communication.

What you'll do

• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
• document each call in the patient EHR using Epic
• assist patients with inquiries
• schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments
• route medication refill requests to the clinical team
• take and route accurate messages to doctors and medical staff
• manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
