What you'll do

• Identify patients
• assemble supplies and equipment
• prioritize STAT, timed, and routine collections
• select venipuncture methods
• reassure patients
• draw blood and follow order-of-draw procedures
• use personal protective equipment and dispose of sharps and medical waste properly
• ensure sample quality and quantity
• label and deliver specimens
• maintain patient records and confidentiality
• monitor patients for reactions
• provide aftercare information
• maintain a sanitary workspace
• collect and process COVID-19 tests
• attend required meetings and training.
