The CNC Machine Operator – Wood, 2nd Shift role is onsite in Effingham, IL. Compensation is $19–$20 per hour. The position supports John Boos & Co.’s wood manufacturing facility and its production of handcrafted wood and stainless-steel essentials. The operator runs CNC routers and machining centers to cut, shape, and drill wood components to production specifications. The role includes machine setup, quality inspection, routine maintenance, reporting issues, material handling, and adherence to safety procedures.

What you'll do

• Operate CNC routers and machining centers
• load raw materials
• read production drawings, work orders, and specifications
• set tooling, offsets, and program selection
• monitor cutting, drilling, and shaping
• inspect finished components
• perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes
• report malfunctions, quality issues, or material defects
• maintain a clean work area
• follow safety procedures and use PPE
• assist with material handling.
