Director of Quality Assurance

Job overview

The Director of Quality Assurance role is onsite across Karman Space & Defense’s Corona and South El Monte sites, including South El Monte, CA; compensation is $140,000–$200,000 per year. The role is part of the Space and Launch business, which delivers mission-critical systems for space programs. The director leads the Quality organization and strengthens the quality management system, product quality, and process performance. By translating customer expectations into quality strategies and resolving systemic issues, the role supports reliable products and compliance across aerospace and defense programs.

What you'll do

• Lead staffing, development, performance, and accountability across the Quality organization
• set quality priorities and metrics
• develop improvement plans
• serve as the quality customer focal point
• lead root-cause and corrective-action activities
• facilitate corrective action board meetings
• lead continuous improvement
• partner with operations, engineering, supply chain, and program management
• oversee supplier quality
• manage document control, material review board activities, and internal audits.
